PC Decrapifier LogoYou just bought a new computer. You take it out of the box, hook it up, and start it up for the first time. Gliffy

By Janis Gonser, TradeMark Media User Experience Director

Don’t like to spend your money on Visio or Omnigraffle? Here comes the Flash-based online diagram tool Gliffy.

Gliffy comes with several “libraries”, like floorplans or User Interface, which include various shapes and drawings. In addition users can upload images or search for them via a Web service provided by Yahoo!. All diagrams are saved on the Web and can be exported to svg (visio), png or jpeg. The free Basic Account allows up to 5 diagrams, but comes with limited help, advertisement, and a Gliffy logo when exported or printed. The unlimited Premium Account takes away the advertisement and offers full email support. The cost is $30 per year ($2.50/month) or $45 for two years ($1.88/month).

Other features worth mentioning:

  • Blog this diagram
  • Collaborate diagram on the Web
  • Revision History
