Del.icio.us – social bookmarking

The newest thing in Web applications is ‘social bookmarking’. Del.icio.us (del.icio.us.com) allows you to publish your bookmarked links to the Web where you can have access to them no matter where you are (as long as you’re connected to the Internet). And here’s where the social part comes in. It also allows you to share your bookmarks amongst your peers. We use it internally to share industry-related websites and other cool sites we want everyone to check out. Del.icio.us also helps you get started by allowing you to import your current bookmarks from other browsers and also organize them using a system called ‘tagging’ (using keywords as description). Whether you’re working in a group or just want to keep your own bookmarks in a central place, it’s a great way to keep an ongoing library of important sites.
